For Ford technicians

Ford diagnostics, worked through properly

Written for the person with the truck on the hoist. Every guide here takes one code and answers the questions that actually decide the repair: what the module measured, which causes produce that measurement, and the one observation that separates them.

No invented statistics, no parts lists dressed up as diagnoses, and no thresholds reprinted from a manual we do not own. Where a number matters, we name the PID and send you to the Workshop Manual entry for your platform.

How these are written

Why you can trust the method

Test order, not a guess list

Causes are ordered by which test is cheapest and most discriminating — not by a made-up probability. Every branch names the observation that rules it in or out, so you are eliminating, not swapping parts.

Real PIDs, real module behaviour

The signals named on each page are the ones FDRS and Olympus actually read, and each one comes with how to interpret it. Threshold values stay with the Workshop Manual, where they belong.

Codes are read together

A code rarely arrives alone, and the companions change the diagnosis. Every page covers which co-occurring codes flip the read — which one is root and which is cascade.

Comebacks are called out

Each page ends with the mistakes that put the same vehicle back in the bay — including the ones where a monitor has not re-run yet and the repair only looks unsuccessful.

The tool behind the writing

What Olympus is

Olympus is an AI diagnostic assistant for Ford technicians. It runs on the shop PC and drives the dealership's own licensed FDRS session — reading module DTCs, running self-tests, pulling live PIDs and batch reads, sweeping the module inventory, and searching the Ford Workshop Manual, TSBs and pinpoint tests for the exact platform. It cites what it used, and when the data does not separate the causes it says so instead of naming a part.

Being straight about the stage it is at: Olympus is Ford/Lincoln-only, Windows-only, and needs FDRS plus a licensed Ford account on the same machine. It is in daily use at a Ford dealership bench, and the verified-repair-outcome corpus that will let us publish accuracy numbers is still being built — so we are not publishing accuracy numbers.

Try it on the next truck in your bay

First 10 diagnostics are free, no card. It installs on a Windows shop PC alongside FDRS, and it reads the modules itself — you never retype a code off a screen.

Clicking the download button starts a Windows installer download. Olympus needs FDRS and a licensed Ford account on the same machine — it drives your dealership's own FDRS session, it does not replace it. First 10 diagnostics are free.
